Tree grows 20-30 feet high and wide. It is multi-stemmed or single stemmed. In the fall, the leaves turn from dark green to yellow, orange, red, and reddish purple. The bark is smooth, thin, and bluish gray-looks like flexing muscles. A shade tolerant tree that can be placed under large trees, it can handle occasional flooding. Acidic to neutral soils.
